Glen Steward, President/Broker

Glen is a true entrepreneur at heart and began his mortgage career over 20 years ago where he quickly became a top producer, broker, and later founder of a successful wholesale lending company, Steward Financial.


Navigating the imminent industry storms of that time, Glen launched his next venture with Steward Investments, a real estate finance corporation where he built out Nationwide Direct Lending; a retail division that eventually sold to Guaranteed Rate. His expertise in the field led him to consulting and ultimately pooling his knowledge to establish Nationwide Loans, Inc.


Glen has a strong knack for cultivating lender relationships, understanding the intricacies of pricing, and maintaining a lean business model which attracts many top producers to Nationwide Loans.


Born and raised in San Diego, Glen has been a beach lover, avid surfer, and waterman ever since he can remember. His love of surfing has brought him to some of his favorite travel destinations.

Chelsea Smith, Vice President/Director of Sales

Chelsea is a seasoned retail mortgage and sales professional who has an innate drive for excellence. She has proven herself as a top producer, receiving awards in 2017 and 2018 with a combined volume of $90.8 million.


Knowing what an LO needs to succeed coupled with her background in business allows her to support producers at both the individual and branch levels. Chelsea plays an integral part in developing the infrastructure and marketing strategies for the organization and prides herself in helping loan officers and brokers find a “home” here at Nationwide Loans.


Chelsea is originally from Florida and graduated from UCF, living in Denver for a stint before settling in San Diego where she enjoys temperate climates and reasonably-sized insects. An avid traveler, Chelsea also enjoys pilates, spin class, and live music.


Mortgage Licensing Group provides full service mortgage licensing support to onboarding LO’s and Brokers and are recognized throughout the industry with over 20 years experience. This trusted partnership provides Nationwide security in knowing that any regulatory changes in state or federal licensing laws are met. Angelica Mendez, our dedicated representative, works directly with new LO’s and Brokers in gaining sponsorship with Nationwide to ensure a smooth transition.

Our relationship with Strategic Compliance Partners is invaluable and helps keep Nationwide and our team members in check. Compliance issues can be hard to navigate and time spent on compliance is time NOT spent on what we do best.

Bright North is why we can offer a Painless Payout and 48 hour direct deposit to our LO’s and Brokers.  As an accounting service, Bright North has allowed us the flexibility and systems to streamline a simple and speedy payout method.

The Nationwide Broker Support Team implements the onboarding for each new team member. The team ensures that each LO and Broker is set up to do business under Nationwide Loans; implementing background and NMLS checks, coordinating sponsorship through MLG, setting up credentials with Advantage Credit, Fannie & Freddie Mae, Accounting, Penny Mac, Calyx, Loansifter, etc.
